Wilwood's D154 Front Caliper Kit offers a direct bolt-on solution featuring lightweight, high-strength construction. It serves as a robust alternative to the original equipment (OE) cast iron "Metric" calipers utilized in a broad spectrum of mid-size GM cars and small trucks from 1978 onwards, with some GM models still employing them up to 2002. Crafted from forged billet aluminum, stainless steel pistons, and competition-grade high-temperature seals, these calipers eliminate issues like rust, bore pitting, and seal failures common in OE designs.
The D154 calipers deliver dependable performance with minimal maintenance requirements and substantial weight reduction, ensuring reliability in both street and track environments. Installation is hassle-free, mounting directly onto stock rotors in the original location. They accommodate OE D154 brake pads and utilize an OE M10-1.5 banjo bolt brake line mounting, compatible with most wheels designed to clear OE calipers.
With 2.50” pistons, the front calipers offer 4.90 square inches of piston area per caliper, maintaining the original front-to-rear brake bias and compatibility with the OE master cylinder. Each kit includes Wilwood’s hardened slide pins and BP10 high-friction pads. Additionally, matching rear calipers are available for customized setups.
