Directional Brake Rotor

What makes a brake rotor directional?  Typically it is based on the internal venting of the rotor.  Some rotors are universal like the first three shown below.  The fourth type, Curved Vane rotors, are directional!  Air moves from the center outwards on all rotors due to the centrifugal forces. In the side view shown below of the curved vane rotor, the correct direction would be for the rotor to spin counter clockwise.
